Frances Trevino is the author of The Laughter of Doves and Mama and Other Tragedies, a 1999 fellow for the National Endowment for the Humanities, the recipient of the 2000 Premió Poesía Tejana Award, and a teacher of British literature for the San Antonio Independent School District.
