Overview

In 1938, André Malraux and Max Aub meet in Barcelona and decide to shoot the film Sierra de Teruel – L'Espoir, an homage to the Republican side of the Spanish civil war to internationalize the conflict. This novel narrates the filming, the fall of Barcelona, the exile of many Spaniards, and the protagonists behind its premiere in Paris right when the Nazis take the city.      

Author Biography

Antoni Cisteró was born in Barcelona. He is a chemical engineer with degrees in philosophy and social science, an investigator of contemporary history and theatrical language, and has written plays, short stories, essays, and novels. He has many awards during his career, such as La Carrova prize twice and the Theatron prize.
