Independent Publishers Group is looking for a talented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to develop and maintain our data warehouse and its data sources and outputs.
Responsibilities include the maintenance and refactoring of our sales focused OLAP cube, expansion and revisions to the tables, stored procedures, views etc. behind the data warehouse, and similar responsibilities for importing data into the system via ETLs / SSIS and reporting data out in the form of XML data feeds and reports and BI dashboards facilitated via SSRS.
As the data warehouse is heavily involved in our automated accounting practices, familiarity with sales, royalties, and the general accounting domain is a major plus. The successful candidate will spend time devising further automations on the accounting side, then delegate the execution of newly coded routines to accounting and / or technical support staff as necessary
This position requires proven experiential and academic foundations in database design and databaseoriented programming languages. While many projects will include the support of a project manager, some may also require the candidate to conduct requirements gathering exercises on their own to ensure that the programming conclusively solves the business need. Interpersonal skills, communication skills, and experience in the business analyst role are required.
