Overview
Arabella wants nothing more than to alight on the dig. Any dig, rather than her current, temporary role as botanist. Henry is tired. He is tired of his new role as doctor, tired of the lack of adventure, and tired of keeping Bella's outbursts and escapades out of the papers. When five girls go missing from locked rooms in their homes, Arabella and Henry are called upon to help solve the kidnappings. As Bella ventures undercover into a lunatic asylum, she is assaulted by a mute woman who scrawls, "Here, the dead wake." And a vial of Bella's research poison has gone missing. Together, Bella and Henry must find the vial and the missing girls before charges can be brought against her.Reviews
