In this day and age it is nearly impossible to stay 100% healthy and fit. Between long hours sitting in an office chair, balancing a family, and accomplishing everything else on your to-do list, it's no wonder that health has become a relative term. To combat this, Michael Kaufman shows you how to extend your life by living healthy and fit. Am I My Body's Keeper contains no magic life-extending elixir, nor a secret map to help you discover the fountain of youth. Am I My Body's Keeper provides a simple guide to changing your lifestyle, from the sedentary one characterizing most of society to an active one emphasizing physical activity and healthy eating. The simple lifestyle changes advocated by this book will give you vim and vigor, health and fitness during those additional years of life you will be gaining. Based upon the timeless teachings of the Jewish sages as well as scientific research, Am I My Body's Keeper is a guide for good, healthy living. It is for young and old, men and women—for everyone who wishes to be healthy and fit and to live a long life.

"Michael Kaufman's is a convincing, utterly remarkable book, a persuasive, easy-to-use guide based on Jewish tradition and the latest advances of medical science, to improving the quality of one's life and staying free of chronic diseases. Am I My Body's Keeper provides a practical, easy-to-use prescription for living a longer, healthier, active life." —Rabbi Lawrence Kelemen

"This is a truly outstanding book! I am amazed at the extensive research, both scientific and halachic that Kaufman has done to support the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. Michael Kaufman has made a valuable contribution by the publication of this important work. [His book] should be required reading for everyone seeking to live a long, healthy life." —Dr. Jacob Klein MD

"Michael Kaufman lays out for us in a well-organized and felicitous manner the vital principles for good health care and proactive medicine on the basis of the latest and most reliable medical research studies. His knowledge of preventive medicine is on a par with his impressive understanding of Torah and halachah. This book will hopefully serve as a catalyst for many to be transformed to a state of good spiritual and bodily health." —Rabbi Professor Avraham Steinberg MD

"Am I My Body's Keeper is motivating and inspiring because it is a heartfelt call for action. Quite literally. Unlike other authors, Kaufman gives a range of tools and alternative strategies for dieting, exercise and mindset to achieve health and fitness goals that are realistic and far-reaching, and he encourages even minor changes in lifestyle that can have a major affect. It's not an all or nothing proposition and there are many factors involved. He also avers that it's never too late to reverse aging and ill health." —Rosally Saltsman,

"A superb piece of research and writing. Although [Kaufman] is not a scientist or physician, he has somehow managed to find and understand large numbers of authoritative medical studies proving the benefits of healthful lifestyles, combining them with quotations from the Torah, Talmud, the works of Maimonides (the Rambam) and other Jewish scholars to back them up. He also gives advice from his research and his own life experience on how to lose weight, exercise and become and stay healthier at any age." —Judy Siegel-Itzkovich , Jerusalem Post

"The book is full of step-by-step tips to change your lifestyle for the better. Am I My Body's Keeper is a Torah work worthy of our study like all others. It is unquestionably one of the most urgent and needed works of Torah today." —torahbookreviews

"The book is easy to read. It focuses on the Jewish view toward taking care of our bodies, but the information and ideas in the book are valuable for people of all religions." —Dr. Israel Drazin,

"Thoroughly 'user friendly' in tone, content, organization and presentation, Am I My Body's Keeper? is a life-changing, life-enhancing instructional guide and manual that is unreservedly recommended for personal, community, and academic library Health & Medicine collections and supplemental studies reading lists." —
