Accounts Receivable Associate

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Senior A/R Associate
Employment Status: Full-time

Overview

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for analyzing, processing, and finalizing product returns from our customers. The A/R Associate is also responsible for managing a collection portfolio by making calls to customers to resolve disputes and collect past due balances.

This role is ideal for strong communicators with an analytical mindset who have a proven background in customer service and accounts receivable and are detailed oriented.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Process received returns and generate credits to customer accounts; standard format, EDI, and Canadian Returns
  • Perform analysis of returns received versus returns claimed by customer
  • Research returns based on remittance advice deductions to locate and process returns in a timely manner
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding returns
  • Manage an assigned account portfolio for unapplied credits, disputed invoices, and aged receivables. Includes calling on customers.
  • Review and processing of shortage and damage claims
  • Application of return credits to invoices
  • Assist in Offsetting Returns for EDI Customers
  • Metadata management

Qualificiations:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in an office setting: clerical, customer service, or accounting clerk role
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically formatting and v-lookups. A brief test will be administered during the interview process.
  • Goal-oriented - holds themself accountable to achieving shared and personal goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers and external vendors.
  • Physical abilities. Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office environment. Ability to visually compare return documentation to excel files. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • This role is temporarily remote based. Candidates must have the ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet.

The Sales Associate will work closely with the Director, International Sales to assist and support in achieving the company’s sales goals and growth objectives in markets outside of the U.S. and Canada. The Sales Associate will be the key support contact for IPG’s foreign subdistributors and sales agencies and will work with client publishers and distribution program directors to facilitate sales in international markets. Additional responsibilities include producing and interpreting sales reports for the international team. Success in this position will be achieved through effectively supporting productive relationships with international partners that leads to meeting or exceeding sales goals and demonstrating analytical skills by producing actionable sales reports that provide insightful data analysis to the sales teams.
