Accounts Payable Clerk

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager
Employment Status: Full Time

Overview

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable function. This includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, processing payments, and communicating with vendors and publishers. The ideal applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, have knowledge of general accounting principles, effective organizational skills, that ability to prioritize and multi-task and be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Accurately review and process vendor invoices and payments on a weekly basis.
  • Perform monthly vendor and publisher reconciliations.
  • Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.
  • Address and respond to vendor and publisher inquiries.
  • Assist in creating import files for monthly publisher statements.
  • Assist in auditing monthly publisher statements and reports.
  • Update vendor and publisher contact and payment information.
  • Create manual publisher invoices and assist in collecting publisher payments.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree
  • 2 years of experience in an office setting: clerical, customer service or accounting clerk role
  • Ability to work independently and have strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Goal-oriented - holds themself accountable to achieving shared and personal goals
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and publishers
  • Physical abilities. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Travel requirements. Ability to travel to the office in order to assist in payment processes preferred
