Author Biography

Francisco Martínez de la Rosa was a Spanish writer and politician who graduated in law and in 1808 and later became a professor at the University of Granada. He endured eight years in jail after a royal decree by Fernando VII, and later was exiled to France. Abén Humeya premiered there, his historical drama written in. Upon his return to Spain he was appointed Prime Minister.
