Author Biography
Giuseppe Ungaretti was one of the most famous poets of the 20th century and left an indelible sign in the literary field. He died in Milan in 1970. Diego Bastianutti worked as a professor of Spanish literature at Queens University from 1970–1997 and was responsible for the development of their Italian studies program. He is the recipient of the 1998 John Glassco Prize for best translation in English of a foreign literary work.
