A Checklist to New Zealand Birds, Frogs, Reptiles, Mammals and Butterflies

This pocket checklist includes all the species of birds, frogs, reptiles, mammals and butterflies that currently have wild populations in New Zealand, plus vagrant species that have been reliably recorded here during the last 25 years. The checklist is designed to enable birdwatchers and naturalists to keep records of the species they see during field excursions in New Zealand.

Kerry-Jayne Wilson is an ecologist who has had a life-long interest in natural history. She is the author of Flight of the Huia (2005, Canterbury Unversity Press), which describes in detail the ecology and conservation of New Zealand wildlife.
