Author Biography

Costa Rican philologist and musician - Texts He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of CostaRica.After more than 12 years of experience in the private sector, holding managerialpositions in consumer markets and the tourism industry, Giancarlo founded his firstsocial enterprise, the Magical Trees Foundation.Some of the most powerful education tools, and an important income stream for MagicalTrees, come from the photographs that Giancarlo, his father and brother have taken.The organization uses these photographs to produce diverse materials andpublications, including the Magical Trees of Costa Rica Book, a national best seller.Giancarlo is a graduate of the Masters in Strategic Leadership for SustainabilityProgram in Karlskrona, Sweden. He started as a photographer in 2010 and lives it as ameans to reconnect with nature and himself, his passion for trees was the trigger tofollow his dads and brothers steps in the art of photography.Additional from capturing images of magical trees, he also has specialized in aerial andadventure sports photography.In his photographic career has participated in 2 collective exhibitions and 5 individualones in Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile and Germany. tudied Business Administration, photography and graphic design. Has practicedphotography for more than 18 years and has worked as a freelance photographer forthe last 13 years.Has participated in 16 individual and collective photo exhibits, including at the WorldMuseum in San Francisco, California. The Munich Theater, Germany. Natural HistoryMuseum in London, and the Geraadsbergen Museum, Belgium.In 2014 one of his images was selected by one of the most prestigious photographycontests in the world, BBC & London Natural History Museum "Wildlife Photographer ofthe Year Photo Contest". This image was part of the 2014 exhibition in the NaturalHistory Museum in London and part of the book they publish along with the BBC withthe winner images of the contest.Also has won awards like the photographer of the year and photo of the year by theCosta Rican Photo Club and silver in lights of America from National GeographicSpanish.His images have been published in multiple media, including books, calendars, andmagazines of international prestige, such as Christie’s Great Estates, Robb ReportVacational Homes, Runner’s World, Conde Nast, On Board Explore, NationalGeographic Latin America.Has published 4 books along with his dad and has done the photography for 3 otherbooks, for Municipalidad de San Jose, for The Nature Conservancy Costa Rica and TheNature Conservancy Guatemala.
