"Few art of anatomy books boast quite as much awe-inspiring style and originality as this one from fantasy artist and teacher, Patrick J Jones!" — ImagineFX Magazine

"[A] fantastic book." —Park Blogs

"This is a must-have; we’ve already been captivated by his work for the two how-to books he’s done. On top of his highly detailed execution and finish, Patrick’s colouring is just astonishing. It is so beautifully done, like Maxfield Parrish or Frazetta. This may just be our favourite art book of the year!" —Bud Plant

"The paintings in the book are breathtaking. You just can’t fault the technique. The way he captures the light and mood is terrific. He also uses professional models to get his lighting and anatomy correct. So that’s the amount of dedication he puts behind each piece of work. I can only imagine how much more beautiful the paintings are in real life." —ParkaBlogs

Author Biography

Patrick J. Jones is an award-winning sci-fi and fantasy artist and teacher. His work is collected and published worldwide, and his client list includes such companies as Disney, Lucasfilm and Roc books. Patrick grew up in the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland, during the violent 30-year conflict known as “the Troubles”. Influenced by artists Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta, he spent his days in the sanctuary of rooftops, drawing and dreaming of becoming a fantasy artist, to the din of street riots below. Patrick later spent two years in the merchant navy, after which he moved to London and worked as an illustrator for 15 years before travelling the world once more.

Today, Patrick is settled in Brisbane, Australia, where he lives with his wife Cathy and their two scruffy dogs. When he’s not painting, he teaches art at two universities in the city. He is the author of several books, including Oil Painting Masterclass.
