"These photographs, while inner-directed, convey that sense of gladness . . . the gladness of deep breathing, the surprise of noticing light and shadow as it informs existence, the gladness of sensing through a suddenly deepened relationship with the earth and sky that you may be in the right place, doing what you are supposed to be doing or rather, being what you are supposed to be." —Will Walker, poet
The result of 20 years of summers in Provincetown, this collection presents the photographer's personal images and the essence of his experiences. Largely spotlighting a single stretch of beach at the East End, the work is accompanied by text from poet and essayist Will Walker, as well as a personal photographer's statement from Baker.
Neil Baker is a photographer with more than 30 years of experience who has shown at the Esmond-Wright Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He lives in Santa Monica, California.
