Last week, BBC Worldwide launched a series of Snapchat “shows” to coincide with the North American television premiere of Planet Earth II, which is supplemented by the book (BBC Books, 9781849909655) written by Stephen Moss. Produced by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit, each of the six Snapchat shows told a new Planet Earth II story, with scenes created for vertical mobile viewing. The episodes were narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Sophie Okonedo, and each show complemented the theme of a corresponding TV episode including Jungles, Islands, and Cities.
About the Book:
Planet Earth II publishes in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking BBC series. With more than 250 breathtaking photographs and stills from the BBC Natural History Unit's spectacular footage, the book is an extraordinary new exploration of the complex life of some of earth’s most amazing places. Planet Earth II also includes the first in-depth look at the urban environment and the surprising range of behaviors occurring right under our noses, as well as some previously untouched island worlds.
