Overview

A timely story about the dangers of drilling for oil in the Arctic environments

A timely story about the dangers of drilling for oil in the Arctic environments, Goldilocks and the Three Bears touches upon the connection between human activity and environmental consequences. A young girl is moved to the Arctic because of her father's job with the oil industry. She develops a connection with the polar bears that she sees in her area. When an oil rig leaks and the spill is set on fire, the child is left wondering what will become of her furry friends.

Reviews

"Beautiful illustrations detail the bears and the little girl as her excitement turns to worry. The book can serve as a useful tool in talking to children ages seven to nine about our impact on the environment." —Catherine Reed-Thureson, Foreword Reviews

Author Biography

Ross Murray is a New Zealand-based acclaimed illustrator and comics creator, who is passionate about nature and the environment. In 2011, he experienced firsthand the devastating effects of an oil spill on the beach outside his home at Mount Maunganui. This disaster, combined with a desire for his two young children to grow up in a clean and healthy world, inspired him to write this book.
