Author Biography
Virginia Gonzalez, MPH, is a health educator and study coordinator at Stanford University School of Medicine's Patient Education Research Center. Virginia Niacif de Brey is a research assistant at the Stanford Patient Education Research Center, who collaborated in the development and writing of the Spanish Arthritis Self-Management Program. Kate Lorig, RN, Dr. PH, developed and directs the Arthritis Self-Management Patient Education Project at the Stanford University Arthritis Center. She is the coauthor of Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions and Living Well with HIV & AIDS. James F. Fries, MD, is a professor of medicine at Stanford University, specializing in rheumatology. His books include Arthritis, The Arthritis Helpbook, Living Well, Taking Care of Your Child, and Taking Care of Yourself.
