Overview

While Bearful Bear goes about another day in the forest, he wonders whether he can learn to move like all of the animals around him. Every creature he encounters shares how they move, and then Bearful has the opportunity to practice his new skill. Children will learn how to fly, gallop, hop, and more with this rhythmic, rhyming tale about an inquisitive bear whose animal friends teach him to move in many new ways. These catchy how-to's not only encourage movement by the reader, but also encourage language development and outright fun!

Author Biography

Anna has enjoyed the gift of stories her whole life and was inspried to write about Bearful Bear, a character her father, Gordon Perkins, created in bedtime stories growing up. Her love of storytelling developed into a love of writing poetry, songs, and essays. After teaching Kindermusik for several years and watching the connection between parent and child grow stronger through movement stories, Anna became dedicated to making more of these stories available to a wider population. Literacy is inspired when parents take the story off of the page and engage with their child, and Anna hopes that Bearful helps families create endearing and special moments that children will remember for the rest of their lives.
